Taiwan's passport has ranked joint 31st on a list of the world's most powerful passports, according to the Henley Passport Index for the third quarter of 2021.

Taiwan's total exports surged by 35.1% year-on-year to reach US$36.65 billion in June while total imports rose by 42.3% from a year earlier to US$31.51 billion.

Taiwan's official Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 1.89% year-on-year in June.

The Taoyuan International Airport Corporation says it will be expanding the number of coronavirus testing facilities this week as part of efforts to ensure that no cases of the coronavirus Delta variant enter Taiwan undetected.

The Water Resources Agency says the Second Baoshan Reservoir has reached full capacity for the first time since 22 June of last year. The reservoir supplies water to the Hsinchu Science Park.
