Taiwan passport ranked world's 31st most powerful

Taiwan's passport has ranked joint 31st on a list of the world's most powerful passports, according to the Henley Passport Index for the third quarter of 2021.

 

Compared with the second quarter, Taiwan's ranking was up one spot in the latest survey and it now offers its holders visa-free access to 146 destinations.

 

Taiwan shares the 31st spot with Mauritius and Saint Lucia.

 

The latest index includes 199 different passports and 227 different travel destinations.

 

The passports were ranked based on the number of destinations giving passport holders visa-free access.

 

Japan remains top of the list for the fourth consecutive year with access to 193 destinations without a visa, followed by Singapore, South Korea and Germany.
