25 January, 2022
Data compiled by the Ministry of Economic Affairs shows the industrial production index up more than 13.2% from a year earlier.
Manufacturing activity in Taiwan is being driven by increased demand for high-tech devices and raw materials.
The ministry also said production in the electronic component industry rose 18.4% from a year earlier on the back of demand for emerging technologies such as 5G applications, high performance computing devices, and internet-connected auto devices.
Semiconductors, flat panel suppliers, and the computer and optoelectronics industry all posted gains.
