Full vaccination rate hits 60%
The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) says that Taiwan’s full coronavirus vaccination rate has now hit 60%.
According to Health Minister Chen Shih-chung, a total of 177,580 vaccine doses were administered this past weekend, and that brings the first-dose vaccination rate to 78.17% and full vaccination rate to 60.52%.
Chen says the CECC could soon begin considering further easing more coronavirus alert restrictions, as the full vaccination rate has now reached the government's goal of 60% by the end of the year.
However, the minister says health officials will continue to review the situation for at least two weeks in order to better understand the global impact of the Omicron variant before any final decision is made regarding easing more restrictions
