The Taipei Representative Office in France is celebrating the inauguration of France's first Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning.

The centre was officially opened in September.

However, the inauguration ceremony was delayed until this past weekend due to coronavirus pandemic-related concerns and restrictions.

The centre is located in the eastern suburbs of Paris.

It was opened with cooperation between Taiwan's Overseas Community Affairs Council and France's Association of Linguistics and Chinese Culture.

The new Taiwan Center for Mandarin Learning is one of 18 Chinese language centres opened this year by the overseas community affairs council.

Fifteen are located in the US and one is in Germany.
