Tax income hits record

The Ministry of Finance says the government has collected record amounts in taxes so far this year.
Taxes from the first ten months of 2021 totalled NT$2.45 trillion, the highest on record and an annual increase of 22.5%.
Tax revenue in October alone was NT$219 billion, 28% higher than the 2020 figure.
The biggest revenue increases were seen in business income tax, the securities exchange tax, and sales tax.
January through October tax revenue has already met the government's full-year tax income target.
