Tax revenues up 23.5% YTD

Taiwan’s tax revenue in the first eight months of 2021 reached nearly NT$2 trillion, according to a news release by the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

 

For the month of August 2021, total net tax revenue was NT$132.4 billion, which was NT$4.8 billion, 3.8% more than the same month last year, while cumulative year-to-date January to August revenue reached NT$1,936 billion, which was NT$367.9 billion or 23.5% more than the same period last year.

 

 

Collected taxes on profit-seeking enterprises and securities transactions as well as business tax, which is incurred following sales of goods and services, accounted for most of the revenue, according to the MOF.
