Premier says Taiwan is not like Afghanistan

Premier Su Tseng-chang says Taiwan will not collapse like Afghanistan in the event of a Chinese invasion and Beijing should not be "deluded" into thinking that it can easily take the island.
The statement comes as China's state media has been claiming that the rapid collapse of the US-backed government in Afghanistan should be a warning to Washington's allies and partners in Asia, including Taiwan.
The premier is dismissing such claims - saying the government will protect the country, and will not seek to follow what he's describing as "people who sing the praises of the enemy in attempts to erode morale in Taiwan."
