1.2 million applications for childcare subsidies

Over a million people have applied for childcare subsidies already.
As of noon today, over 1.24 million people had applied since the application period began yesterday. That represents almost half of all eligible parents.
The government is offering NT$10,000 for each child of elementary school age or for middle schoolers with special needs.
Successful applicants will start receiving the funds this Friday.
