11,000 vaccinated yesterday

As concerns over domestic coronavirus infections rise, the vaccination rate is going up quickly.
According to the Central Epidemic Command Center, some 11,000 people received AstraZeneca jabs yesterday, the highest single-day number yet in Taiwan.
Since the vaccination programme began in March, over 101,000 people have now received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Most of those were government-sponsored, with one quarter of the recipients paying out of pocket for the shots.
The CECC is attempting to use up Taiwan's current stockpile before the jabs expire later this month.
