The Ministry of Labour (MOL) says young people are being paid more than before. According to the ministry’s latest figures, 15 to 29 year olds made an average of NT$32,287 per month last year. That is up NT$684 compared to the year before.

The ministry's figure show that almost two thirds of young workers have received raises. In addition, young workers have held two different jobs on average since entering the workforce, and hold each job for an average of 2.4 years.

Due to Taiwan's shrinking birth rate, the number of young workers has gone down by some 63,000 compared to a decade ago.
