Carrefour Taiwan president Lawrence Wang (Jun-chao) says the company has now finalised its acquisition of Wellcome Taiwan.

The deal includes 199 Wellcome supermarkets as well as 25 Jasons Market Place stores and the move brings all of the stores under the Carrefour brand.

According to Wang, Wellcome stores in Taipei will now be the first to be reopened as Carrefour outlets and that process is expected to be completed island wide by August.

However, the Jasons Market Place stores will continue to operate under their own brand for another two years.

Wang says the company believes that the converted Wellcome stores will add an estimated NT$20 billion to its revenue target for this year.
