Tourism Bureau extends quarantine hotel subsidies
14 September, 2020
The Tourism Bureau is extending quarantine hotel subsidies until the end of the year.
However, in order to do so, it is reducing the amount of future subsidies.
The subsidy will remain at NT$1,200 per day throughout September but, starting in October, it will be reduced to NT$800.
The subsidy will also be limited to Taiwan nationals or foreign permanent residents next month.
There are currently about 12,000 rooms in quarantine hotels nationwide, about 70% of which are occupied.
The Tourism Bureau is thanking hotel operators for participating in the quarantine programme, saying they play an important role in the country's anti-epidemic efforts.
