Unemployment hits 4% in July

Taiwan’s official unemployment rate reached 4% in July, according to the monthly Manpower Survey Results report by the Directorate General of Budget Accounting & Statistics (DGBAS).
According to the report, total employment in July 2020 was 11,498,000, which increased by 21,000 (+0.18%) from the previous month, although it was a decrease of 13,000 (-0.11%) from the same month last year.
The labour force participation rate was 59.2% in July 2020, which declined by 0.08 percentage points from the same month in 2019.
