First tour groups due at the end of May
Transport Minister Lin Chia-lung says the first trial tour groups could make the rounds in Taiwan as soon as the end of May.
Lin says his ministry is in the planning process for nation-wide tours with an eye on health and safety.
Travel agent associations are fleshing out details including buses, accommodations, and scenic sites.
And the trial tour groups will begin operating around the end of May and beginning of June to test the waters.
Lin says the project still aims to prevent overcrowding and maintain proper disease-prevention measures, such as social distancing, and frequent hand-washing.
