MOL considering hotline for filing bullying complaints
Ministry of Labor (MOL) Minister Hung Sun-han says his office is considering establishing a hotline for the general public to report workplace bullying after his office sets up a dedicated complaint channel for its own agencies.
Hong told lawmakers the move is aimed at preventing workplace bullying in the private sector. Hong further said the labour ministry is also assessing the feasibility of creating a hotline for filing complaints and providing counselling regarding workplace bullying that would be available to the public.
The statements come after the labour minister previously announced plans to offer a "dedicated" complaint channel for civil servants who work for the MOL. Hong also told lawmakers that his office has reopened the investigation into the case of workplace bullying and the suicide of a ministry employee.
Hong said members of the investigation team have been changed since the ministry's initial probe. He is now personally overseeing the case and a full report into the matter by the new investigation team is expected to be released next week.
