Premier Cho Jung-tai has expressed confidence that Taiwan-US relations will continue to grow regardless of the US presidential election outcome.

Speaking to lawmakers, Cho noted the US is a mature democracy committed to sustainable policies and emphasized that Taiwan's ties with Washington remain solid.

National Development Council Minister Paul Liu added that a Donald Trump victory could bring significant shifts, such as increased tariffs on Chinese goods, potentially benefiting Taiwan by redirecting orders from China. Meanwhile, Minister of Economic Affairs JW Kuo said that if Kamala Harris wins, Taiwan can expect policy continuity.

Kuo also assured that Taiwan has strategies in place to handle any US policy changes on semiconductor exports under Trump, minimizing potential impact on Taiwan's economy.
