Taiwan ranks as world's 14th richest by purchasing power parity

Taiwan is in 14th place among the world's wealthiest countries in terms of GDP per capita when measured by purchasing power parity (PPP), according to the latest World's 100 Richest Countries 2024 rankings released by Forbes magazine.
Based on Forbes’ PPP calculations, Taiwan's GDP per capita stands at US$76,860, which puts it one spot above Hong Kong. The magazine's list of the richest countries in the world is compiled based on GDP data, as estimated by the International Monetary Fund.
Luxembourg topped the 2024 Forbes list with a PPP GDP per capita of US$143,740. That was followed by Macao, Ireland, Singapore and Qatar.
