Premier-designate Cho Jung-tai is voicing his support for new deputy ministers - who he says will ensure the incoming Lai administration will be fully focused on public interest-related policies.

The statement comes after the DPP released the list for 15 new deputy ministers. The list included Ma Shi-yuan and Tong Jien-hong as deputy ministers of the interior.

Former lawmakers Chang Liao Wan-chien and Yeh Ping-cheng have been listed as deputy ministers of education. Former lawmaker Lin Qing-yi and Civil Service Protection and Training Commission Deputy Minister Lu Jien-de have been named deputy ministers of health and welfare. Current deputy transport minister Chen Yen-po will remain in his post, as will deputy minister of digital affairs, Herming Que.

The list does not include deputies in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Defense.
