The island's unemployment rate fell slightly in March to stand at 3.38%. That figure is the lowest level for that month in 24 years.

According to the government, the rate declined by 0.01 percentage points in March from a month earlier. After seasonal adjustments, the unemployment rate stood at 3.4% in March, the same as in February.

The government attributed the lower jobless rate last month to people finding new work following post-Lunar New Year holiday job transitions. Officials say they also believe the unemployment figure could further improve this month - with a decrease likely to range from 0.01-0.06 percentage points.
