Taiwan's population decreased in March, continuing a three-month trend of decline. The Ministry of the Interior reported a decrease in the number of newborns to 10,827 for the month. Despite a year-on-year increase, this month's figures signal ongoing challenges in reversing the trend of population decline. March also saw 17,566 deaths, further impacting the population numbers. Migration provided a slight boost, with a net gain of just over 5,000 people. In addition, Taiwan recorded 12,322 marriages and 4,500 divorces in March.
