MODA pushes for digital signature reforms
The Ministry of Digital Affairs is pushing for amendments to the Electronic Signatures Act to bolster online identity verification, particularly for advertising investments on digital platforms.
This move, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior, aims to mitigate the challenges posed by deepfake technologies and streamline the review process currently hampered by the lack of digital signatures.
The reform includes six major points, such as ensuring electronic and digital signatures carry the same legal weight as their physical counterparts and introducing a government-authorized certification for digital signatures.
This amendment is a step towards enhancing digital trust, promoting the use of electronic signatures across various sectors, and facilitating the digital transformation of industries.
