Survey indicates pessimism about China market outlook
A new survey suggests that Taiwan businesses were generally pessimistic about the outlook for the China market.
The poll conducted by manufacturing NPO, the "Chinese National Federation of Industries" in 2023 found that 50% of respondents were "not very optimistic" about prospects for the market in China. In addition, 52% of the businesses said their orders from China decreased in 2022, while 54% said their profits had declined.
The survey also found that nearly 70% of respondents believe that cross-strait relations will have a negative impact on their businesses in China.
According to the non-profit organization, the results suggest that Taiwanese businesses are facing a number of challenges in the China market, and that they are likely to remain cautious about investing in China in the coming years.
