German companies optimistic about Taiwan's economic prospects
The German Trade Office has released its annual business confidence survey, which shows nearly 60% of German companies in Taiwan are optimistic about the country's economic prospects over the next three years.
According to the survey, some 46% of the companies say they expect Taiwan's economy this year to improve compared to 2023. That's a 22.5% increase from last year's survey.
German Trade Office chief representative, Axel Limberg says the companies' predictions for the next three years are even more optimistic, with 59.2% saying they expect Taiwan's economy to improve. And that's an increase of 34.5% from last year's survey.
However, the survey also found that German companies in Taiwan see cross-strait tensions and the labour shortage as major challenges.
