Premier Chen Jien-ren says the cabinet will continue efforts to execute government policies, regardless of the outcome of tomorrow's presidential and legislative elections.

Chen says that while it is customary for the cabinet to resign and undergo reshuffling for the incoming administration, the government remains committed to promoting economic development through low-carbonization and automation.

The premier says the government will also strengthen support for young people, by increasing childcare subsidies, making high school and vocational school tuition-free, and providing a NT$$35,000 subsidy for private university students per year.

Chen says the central government is also increasing funding for long-term care, to improve facilities and raise salaries for related service providers, to help young people care for their ageing parents.

On labour policy, Chen says that the government has already passed laws to protect workers' wages, and the government is also committed to ensuring the sustainability of the Labor Insurance Fund.
