EVA Air pilots may go on strike

EVA Air pilots on Friday will start voting on whether to go on strike, and the decision will be announced on 5 January.
If the majority of them agree to the Pilot Union's proposal, the action may take place soon afterwards. It's not clear now when and how long it'll begin and last, but the Union has promised to announce the plan beforehand.
They are not ruling out the possibility of including the Lunar New Year holiday into the striking period.
Union leaders say their organization has 660 members, and if over 50% of them vote yes, the Union will have the legal right to take strike action.
Meanwhile they say negotiation with the management is ongoing, and they're hoping things can work out without a strike.
