Unemployment rate falls to 3.43%

Taiwan’s official unemployment rate declined by 0.21 percentage points in October to 3.43% compared to the same month in 2022. According to a news release from the Directorate General of Budget Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS), the number of unemployed persons was 411,000 in October, a decrease of 5,000 (-1.23%) from the previous month and 20,000 (-4.75%) from October 2022. Meanwhile, the labour force participation rate rose by 0.03 percentage points month-on-month to 59.24% and by 0.06 percentage points from October 2022.
