Taipei Dome hosts first baseball games
The Taipei Dome has hosted its first baseball games. Four teams from the island's top amateur league faced-off in a closed-door double-header. The Taipei Highwealth played the New Taipei Heran - while the Taiwan Cooperative Bank played Xports.
Players and coaches praised the environment of the stadium with Taipei Highwealth coach Huang Xin-zhi telling reporters that the stadium felt comfortable overall and he heard many positive comments from the players.
The dome will be hosting a game in front of 13,000 fans this coming Saturday - when the potential members of Taiwan's B-F-A Asian Baseball Championship team meet the potential members of Taiwan's Under-23 Baseball World Cup team.
Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an last week said that a full capacity test of the Taipei Dome, involving 40,000 people, will take place within a year.
