Economics Minister Wang Mei-hua will be attending the APEC Energy Ministers' Meeting in Seattle this week.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs says Wang will talk about Taiwan's approaches to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 during the meeting. It adds that Wang will delve into the Tsai administration's plans to pursue an energy transition while ensuring sustainable and inclusive economic growth. She is also expected to share the strategies and work of Taiwan on decarbonizing the power sector, accelerating the development of renewable energy, and reducing methane emissions, with APEC member economies.

The economics ministry says Wang will be attending a forum on Taiwan-US supply chain and trade cooperation while in Seattle.

This year's APEC Energy Ministers' Meeting is being held under the title of "creating a resilient and sustainable future for all." It was last held in 2015.
