Huge demand for MOI housing subsidies

A government support programme for home buyers has seen an influx of applicants since it opened this month.
The Ministry of the Interior (MOI) says the subsidy programme for those of "middle-income and below" with home loans opened at 9am on 1 June. 100 hours after opening, over 350,000 people have already completed an application.
Officials are reminding the public that a person who applies must be the one who took out the home loan, and not the property owner.
The agency also stresses that loans processed under this programme must be for the purchase of residential properties.
