33 flights affected by China's no-fly zone
The Civil Aeronautics Administration says a total of 33 international flights to and from Northeast Asia and North America were affected by China's no-fly zone over waters north of Taiwan.
The non-fly zone was initiated for 27 minutes. It affected skies located 85 nautical miles north of Taiwan within the Taipei Flight Information Region.
The no-fly was initiated as China launched a meteorological satellite from Gansu Province Sunday morning.
The Ministry of National Defense says it detected some rocket debris falling into the zone, but it didn't pose a safety threat.
China's Fujian Maritime Safety Administration also issued a navigation warning on Thursday, saying potential rocket debris would fall in the East China Sea and banned vessels from the area.
