March exports fall 19.1%

Taiwan’s total exports in the month of March contracted 19.1% year on year to US$35.2 billion while total imports fell 20.1% from a year earlier to US$30.98 billion, according to a report by the Ministry of Finance. 

 

Exports of electronic components, particularly semiconductors, passive components, printed circuit boards and others, fell by 14.6% from the same month in 2022 to US$15.57 billion while exports of information and communications technology products dropped by 15.8%.  

For the first quarter, exports contracted 19.2% to US$97.75 billion, while imports sank 15.8% to US$88.84 billion.
