Czech speaker wraps up Taiwan trip
The visiting speaker of the Czech Parliament's lower house has signed a joint statement with Legislative Speaker You Si-kun aimed at further enhancing cooperation between the Czech Republic and Taiwan.
The signing of the statement came as Marketa Pekarova Adamova wrapped up a five-day trip to Taiwan. You said the agreement shows both sides are standing in solidarity against the "axis of evil" formed between China and Russia, and will continue to enhance deeper two-way exchanges on all fronts.
Along with signing the joint statement, Adamova and Foreign Minister Joseph Wu also witnessed the inking of three memoranda of understanding and seven cooperation pacts.
Adamova led a 150-member delegation of business leaders, academics, and government officials to Taiwan this week and she says it will be leaving with "fruitful results" as exemplified by agreements covering a wide range of issues of mutual interest.
