Linkou Chang Gung Hospital most profitable in Taiwan
The Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital generated the highest overall profit among healthcare facilities last year.
It's the sixth consecutive year that the hospital has topped the profit list compiled by the National Health Insurance Administration.
The annual report is based on the profits made by healthcare facilities that receive National Health Insurance funding in excess of NT$200 million.
Data shows that the Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital reported NT$3.47 billion in profit. The Kaohsiung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital ranked second, with a profit of NT$3.26 billion. And that was followed in third place by the China Medical University Hospital, which reported a profit of NT$2.35 billion.
The report also shows that the percentage of healthcare facilities that registered surplus revenue at the end of last year stood at 89.3%, an increase from 2021's 86.3%. Only 24 such facilities reported a deficit in 2022.
