December unemployment rate falls to 3.52%

Taiwan’s official unemployment rate declined by 0.09 percentage points to 3.52% in December, down by 0.12 percentage points from the same month in 2021. According to a news release from the Directorate General of Budget Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS), the number of unemployed persons was 418,000 in December, a decrease of 10,000 (-2.34%) and 15,000 (-3.46%) from the previous month and that of the previous year, respectively. The labour force participation rate declined by 0.03 percentage points month on month to 59.17% in December but was up by 0.01 percentage points from the same month in 2021.
