Taiwan to donate to EBRD gender equality fund

Taiwan has signed an agreement with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to become a founding donor of a newly launched fund that aims to promote gender equality.
The agreement was signed in Taipei by head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Department of International Organizations Sharon Wu, and the European Bank's director of donor co-financing Camilla Otto.
MOFA hopes the fund will help promote gender equality and the economic wellbeing of the underprivileged, particularly those living in Ukraine.
The London-based European Bank for Reconstruction and Development was established in 1991. It works to foster the transition to market-oriented economies and promotes private and entrepreneurial initiatives.
