Candidates for the Taipei mayoral race, one of the most anticipated contests, are planning big events tomorrow night, the eve of the election on 26 November.

DPP nominee Chen Shi-chung, who originally planned to hold his election eve rally on the Katagaland Boulevard, decided to change the venue to Bei-ping East Road after taking weather and safety factors into account. President Tsai Ing-wen, former Vice President Chen Jian-ren, and Premier Su Tseng-chang are expected to be there to show solidarity.

Chen's KMT rival Chiang Wan-an, on the other hand, will be on what the KMT called "the biggest and longest stage ever" at Taiwan Cement's parking lot on Keelung Road, to garner votes together with his party's heavyweights. The KMT has also commissioned cable news channel TVBS 56 to broadcast live the rallies in the other five municipalities tomorrow night as well.

Meanwhile independent candidate Huang Shan-shan will take the stage in front of the Taipei City Hall, where she had served as Deputy Mayor for nearly three years before stepping down to campaign.
