Domestic Covid cases lowest in 207 days
The Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC reported 11,888 new domestic coronavirus cases on Monday, the lowest number in 207 days.
The daily number of confirmed local infections first topped 10,000 on 28 April and health officials say the latest daily case load represents a 28.3% decline from a week earlier.
A majority of the new infections are continuing to be reported in New Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung.
Forty-one new coronavirus-related deaths were reported, all but two of which had underlying health issues.
