Brantner's visit comes after Berlin confirmed that Bettina Stark-Watzinger, the Federal Minister of Education and Research, will be holding talks with National Science and Technology Council Minister Wu Zheng-chong, who is currently visiting Germany.
That meeting will be the first time a German minister has held talks with a Taiwanese counterpart.Wu is in Germany this week to attend the 20th conference on economic cooperation between Taiwan and Germany.
