Lithuanian office in Taipei begins operations
The Lithuanian government has announced the formal opening of its trade office in Taipei.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says Lithuania's Economy and Innovation Minister made the formal announcement during an event at the Taiwanese Representative Office in Lithuania.
The minister also made the announcement via Twitter, saying the trade office is expected to bring about "better cooperation between Lithuania and Taiwan" and the partnership would strengthen Lithuania's plans to become a high-tech powerhouse in the European Union."
The foreign minister says the head of its European affairs department, Vincent Yao has visited the office in Taipei to meet with Lithuania's representative here and to congratulate him on the office's opening.
The office is officially called the "Lithuania Trade Representative Office" and is located in the Taipei World Trade Center International Trade Building.
