National Central Library Director-General Tseng Shu-hsien says five more Sinology resource centres have been opened in central and eastern Europe. Tseng says the government hopes these centres will increase the exposure of Taiwanese research in Chinese studies.

Tseng travelled to Vilnius University in Lithuania to personally open the "Taiwan Resource Center for Chinese Studies" there.

Other centres have been opened in Estonia, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. They are all run by the National Central Library here in Taipei.

The resource centres were first established in 2012 in response to the government's goal of promoting "Chinese culture with Taiwanese characteristics." There are now over 40 of these centres worldwide.
