Lithuanian delegation arrives in Taiwan
Lithuania's vice minister of economy and innovation is leading a 28-member delegation to Taiwan this week. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the delegation is made up of laserand biotechnology company representatives and will be holding talks aimed at strengthening two-way cooperation.
The delegation will be meeting with Foreign Minister Joseph Wu, officials from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the National Development Council. It will also be visiting national research institutes and private businesses in the laser and biotechnology sectors.
It's the fourth Lithuanian delegation led by a deputy minister-level official to Taiwan this year. The foreign ministry says the government welcomes the frequent visits of senior officials from the Baltic country.
However, the ministry is refusing to say whether or not the visit is related to the pending opening of a Lithuanian trade office in Taipei later this month.
