Taipower announces new rates for EV charging
23 May, 2022
Taiwan's state-run Taipower says that from 1 June, electric car owners will be charged a flat-month rate of NT$262.5 for household electricity. In addition, electric car owners will be charged a per-kilowatt surcharge of NT$34.6 between October and May, and NT$47.2 between June and September.
Taipower says the new rates are designed to encourage off-peak charging. They will apply to the registered residential addresses of Taiwan's 10,000 or so electric car owners, as well as to public charging points.
