The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) has launched a new coronavirus subsidy programme for restaurants and food and beverage operators. Under the new policy, restaurants are entitled to a subsidy of up to NT$100,000 if they submit a marketing plan to promote sales.

According to the ministry, the plan must include preferential discounts, marketing campaigns and advertising proposals.

The latest subsidy programme comes as restaurant owners have been reporting a sharp decline in customers in recent weeks, as people opt for take-out services due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Restaurant owners and food and beverage operators have until 15 June to apply for the subsidy.
