The Ministry of Finance has reiterated that tax season this year won't be extended.

Minister Su Jian-rong says taxpayers should file their income tax returns in May with the deadline on 31 May.

Su says his ministry has also revised its App so that people can easily complete the procedures using their cellphones at home or make an appointment online and arrive at the tax bureau at the designated time.

Last year the tax season lasted two months, from 1 May until 30 June, due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Su says it won't happen this year as the situation is very different, adding that he'll reconsider if the Central Epidemic Command Center imposes stricter measures.
