Taiwan's economy has witnessed a boost with February's catering and retail sectors hitting record revenues, spurred by the Spring Festival and strong demand in tech sectors.
The Central Epidemic Command Center says coronavirus testing stations set up near wholesale vegetable markets in Taipei and New Taipei will remain in place to ensure the disease has not spread into local communities.
Sales of wholesale trade were NT$1.0164 trillion in March 2023, a decrease of 13.3% compared with the same month in 2022, according to a report from the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).
Compared with the same month in 2019, sales of wholesale trade in September 2020 increased 8.2% to NT$952.1 billion while retail sales in September 2020 increased 2.9% year-on-year to NT$320.6 billion.
Wholesale, retail and food services sales all fell in May compared to the same month in 2019.
