The Water Resources Administration says Tuesday's heavy rain raised water levels in key reservoirs in the south. According to the administration, the Tsengwen Reservoir in Chiayi County and the Nanhwa Reservoir in Tainan both reported rainfall totals of 12.5 centimetres, while the Wu-Shan-Tou Reservoir, which is also in Tainan, reported 7.2 centimetres of rainfall.

The Water Resources Agency reports that Taiwan's reservoirs currently hold over three months of public water supply. But they warn the upcoming agricultural demand calls for heightened attention to Shimen (石門), Baoshan (寶山), Yongheshan (永和山), and Liyutan (鯉魚潭) reservoirs.

The Feitsui Reservoir Administration says the Greater Taipei area is unlikely to experience water shortages within the next three months because of yesterday's heavy downpour.

The Water Resources Agency says water levels in six reservoirs have fallen to below 20% of capacity and recent days of rainfall have done little to help alleviate the problem.
