ECCT concludes 2024 Open Door Mission
From 16-18 December, an ECCT delegation, headed by Vice Chairman John Winter, Chairman Emeritus Giuseppe Izzo and CEO Freddie Höglund, completed another successful Open Door Mission to Brussels, Belgium. During the trip, the ECCT delegation updated representatives from the European Union in Brussels and European business associations on the ECCT’s position papers, business, economic and other developments in Taiwan, received updates on developments in Europe, exchanged information on ongoing trade, investment and business trends and explored opportunities for future bilateral cooperation.
During the trip, the ECCT delegation met with representatives from the European Commission, including the Directorate-General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), the Directorate General for Mobility & Transport (DG MOVE), the Directorate General for Trade (DG TRADE), the Directorate General for Environment, Water Resilience and a Competitive Circular Economy (DG ENV), the European External Action Service (EEAS) and the Directorate General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA). In addition, the delegation met with representatives from the European Centre for International Political Economy (ECIPE), BusinessEurope, Wind Europe and the European Automobile Manufacturers Association.
On the second evening of the trip, the delegation held an informal meeting with Roy Lee, Representative of the Taiwan Representative Office in the EU & Belgium and enjoyed a dinner with staff members of the office. Full story to follow.
