MOL subsidy programme extended
The Ministry of Labour (MOL) says it's extending a subsidy programme that offers a one-time payment of NT$10,000 to designated workers who have lost at least 20% of their income due to the recent domestic coronavirus outbreak.
The program was rolled out last month.
It was originally available only to those with monthly insured salaries of between NT$24,000 and NT$34,800 who lost 20% of their income in May or June.
However, the labour ministry says from 23 August, workers whose income fell by at least 20% during July will also be eligible to apply for the subsidy.
The ministry says it will also be including senior citizens aged 64 and older in another programme that offers incentives of up to NT$20,000 for unemployed people who find a new job.
The two expanded programmes are expected to benefit some 320,000 people.
