The Ministry of Transport says national scenic areas and theme parks island wide will be observing government mandated capacity restrictions in an effort to curb the spread of the coronavirus during the Lunar New Year holiday.

According to the Tourism Bureau, 13 national scenic areas and 25 theme parks will be reducing their visitor capacities for the duration of the 10-16 February holidays.

The bureau says messages, notifications and announcements will be sent out or made urging visitors not to visit outdoor tourist spots at national scenic areas where the practice of 1.5-meter social distancing cannot be implemented.

The public will also be notified and advised against visiting indoor attractions when visitor numbers reach 50% of their maximum capacity while 25 popular theme or amusement parks will be required to operate at 50% of their respective capacities.
